Team Vitality announced the return of Remy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam as Counter-Strike 2 head coach and the re-signing of captain Dan “apEX” Madesclaire on Friday.

XTQZZZ previously coached the French-based team from 2018-21. The 34-year-old Frenchman then coached with G2 Esports in 2022 and TSM in 2023.

“I’m thrilled to reconnect with my Parisian origins at Team Vitality,” XTQZZZ said. “I’m proud to work alongside the best team in the world, and I’m eager to embark on this exciting new chapter in the world of Counter-Strike 2.

“While this year has already been remarkable for the team, I have full confidence that we can push the boundaries even further.”

XTQZZZ led Vitality to victories at IEM XVI Winter and BLAST Premier: Fall 2020. Prior to his arrival, assistant coach Mathieu “MaT” Leber will serve as acting head coach for IEM Sydney later this month.

apEX, 30, has been with Vitality since October 2018 and is now signed through 2026. The Frenchman helped the team score a victory this year at the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

The rest of the Vitality lineup includes Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut of France, Emil “Magisk” Reif of Denmark and Israel’s Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and Shahar “flameZ” Shushan.
