Domantas Sabonis’ triple-double sparks Kings’ rout of Raptors

Domantas Sabonis had 13 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists as the visiting Sacramento Kings defeated the undermanned Toronto Raptors 123-89 on Wednesday.

Sabonis recorded a double-double for the 51st consecutive game while producing his 24th triple-double of the season.

De’Aaron Fox added 20 points for the Kings (40-28), who were opening a three-game road trip after a 4-2 homestand.

Sacramento’s Malik Monk had 17 points off the bench. Harrison Barnes contributed 16 points, Chris Duarte scored 14 points and Keegan Murray had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Gary Trent Jr. scored 18 points for the Raptors (23-46), who have lost eight in a row. Ochai Agbaji and Jordan Nwora scored 13 points apiece, and Jahmi’us Ramsey put up 11 points.

Immanuel Quickley (personal) did not play for Toronto. He joined an absentee list that includes Scottie Barnes (hand), RJ Barrett (personal) and Jakob Poeltl (finger).

Sacramento was without Kevin Huerter (shoulder) and Trey Lyles (knee).

The Kings, who have won both games against the Raptors this season, took a 34-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Toronto had a 12-0 run to trim the margin to 25 with 6:19 remaining, but the hosts would get no closer.

The Kings led 32-27 lead after the first quarter, then opened the second with a 14-4 surge.

Barnes hit a 3-pointer with 6:15 to play in the half to give the Kings a 17-point lead. Keon Ellis connected on a 3-pointer to finish the first-half scoring and give Sacramento a 68-45 lead. The Kings finished the second period with an 11-0 run.

Toronto committed 11 turnovers that led to 17 Sacramento points in the first half.

Raptors reserve Jontay Porter (illness) played 2:43 in the first quarter before leaving the game. He did not return.

Sabonis made a layup with 5:59 left in the third to give him 10 points and secure the double-double. He added his 10th assist to reach a triple-double on Davion Mitchell’s basket with 2:50 remaining in the quarter, and Sacramento was up 99-65 entering the final period.
