DOTA News: Evil Geniuses dominating Group A at International 2022

Evil Geniuses swept all three matches on Day 3 of group stage action Monday, becoming the first team to clinch a spot in the upper bracket of The International 2022 main event in Singapore.

EG have won seven of eight matches so far in Group A, including 2-0 wins Monday against BetBoom Team, Royal Never Give Up and Gaimin Gladiators.

PSG.LGD moved into second place in Group A with a sweep of BOOM Esports and a 1-1 draw with the Gladiators. Team Liquid are tied for second after beating OG and BOOM.

Group B remains wide open, with Tundra Esports owning a narrow lead over Team Aster and Team Secret heading into Tuesday’s final day of group play.

Tundra swept Team Spirit and tied Aster on Monday. The only Group B squad with a perfect Day 3 was beastcoast with 2-0 wins against TSM and Talon Esports.

The main event begins Thursday and runs through Oct. 30. All matches will be best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final. The current prize pool is more than $16.5 million.
