DOTA News: Team Liquid advance to lower-bracket final at ESL One Berlin

Team Liquid recorded a 2-0 victory over Evil Geniuses on Saturday to advance to the lower-bracket final at the ESL One Berlin Major playoffs in Germany.

Liquid followed up a 40-minute win on blue with a 33-minute victory on red to advance to Sunday’s lower-bracket final match against 9Pandas. The winner of that match will challenge Gaimin Gladiators in the best-of-five grand final.

In Saturday’s other match of the day, Evil Geniuses recorded a 2-1 victory over OG.

Evil Geniuses posted a 60-minute win on blue before OG responded with a 35-minute on blue. Evil Geniuses captured the match after notching a 29-minute win on red.

The second Dota major of the season began April 26 in Berlin with a prize pool of $500,000.

Eighteen teams from around the world participated in the group stage, split into two groups of nine. A single round robin was contested with all matches best-of-two. The top four teams from each group advanced to the upper bracket of the playoffs, the fifth- and sixth-place teams were slotted into the lower bracket and the rest were eliminated.
