DOTA News: Team Liquid show some fight in Kuala Lumpur

Team Liquid advanced to the lower-bracket semifinals during Friday’s action at ESL One Kuala Lumpur.

After a sweep of Team Secret in Round 1, Liquid rallied for a 2-1 quarterfinal victory against Team Falcons.

Liquid eliminated Secret with 47- and 49-minute wins on red. Falcons opened with a 45-minute win on green but Liquid answered with 43- and 34-minute victories on red.

Liquid await the winner of the other lower-bracket quarterfinal: BetBoom Team vs. G2.iG.

BetBoom stayed alive by sweeping Tundra Esports, winning in 58 minutes on green and 49 minutes on red.

Twelve teams began the $1 million Dota 2 tournament in the Malaysian capital. The winner of Sunday’s best-of-five grand final will earn $300,000 and 4,800 ESL Pro Tour points.

Azure Ray and Gaimin Gladiators will meet in the upper-bracket final on Saturday.
