Kelsey Mitchell scored 24 points for the visiting Indiana Fever, who blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter but made enough plays in overtime to outlast the New York Liberty 92-86 on Friday night.

Mitchell sank 8 of 22 shots and helped the Fever (2-2) win their second straight on a night when they shot 38.3 percent and committed 21 turnovers.

Victoria Vivians added 20 points and Indiana’s most clutch player in overtime was Danielle Robinson, who scored eight of her 17 in the extra session to cap a successful season debut.

NaLyssa Smith posted a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds while Queen Egbo grabbed 14 boards to help Indiana to a commanding 57-33 rebounding edge.

New York’s Sabrina Ionsecu led all scorers with 31 points, including a tying 3-pointer in the waning seconds of regulation. After being held to two points in Wednesday’s 33-point loss at Chicago, Ionescu shot 11 of 20 from the field and made five 3-pointers.

Betnijah Laney added 16 points and Stefanie Dolson finished with 12 for the Liberty (1-2), who shot 36.3 percent and committed 17 turnovers.

The Fever started the fourth quarter with a 58-48 lead and held a 74-69 edge with 1:14 left. After Mitchell hit two free throws with 20.2 seconds to go, Ionescu sank a 3-pointer from the left side off a pass from Dolson out of the low post with 14.4 seconds left.

In overtime, Indiana appeared to secure the game when Mitchell converted a three-point play with 1:57 remaining for a six-point lead. However, Laney hit two free throws and a jumper before Ionescu’s left-handed layup forged an 84-84 tie with a minute left.

Robinson then made a pullup jumper from the right elbow with 54.9 seconds left to give Indiana a 86-84 lead, and she snapped a 86-all tie by hitting two free throws with 24.9 seconds left.

The Liberty had a chance to tie or take the lead but with 19.2 seconds remaining, but Ionescu’s pass to Natasha Howard went out of bounds, and the Fever hit four free throws the rest of the way.
