Cloud9 and FlyQuest maintained their dominance in the early round of group play on Saturday, each picking up wins to improve to 3-0 in the League Championship Series 2024 Spring Split.

Eight teams are participating in this year’s spring split, with all matches in the double round-robin group stage best-of-one.

The top six teams will advance to the playoffs, which begin March 14. The top four teams will be in the upper bracket, while the fifth- and sixth-place teams will head to the lower bracket. All playoff matches are best-of-five, including the March 31 grand final.

In addition to earning $100,000, the winner of the grand final will also qualify for the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational in Chengdu, China. The runner-up will also earn a berth in that event, which runs from May 1-19.

Cloud9 opened the day with a 27-minute win over Dignitas. Playing on blue, Cloud9 got a game-high five kills from Kim ” Berserker ” Min-cheol of South Korea and four more from Robert “Blaber” Huang in the win. Every Cloud9 player had at least three kills. Frank “Tomo” Lam led Dignitas with three kills.

Later, FlyQuest kept pace with a 35-minute win over Team Liquid. Also playing on blue, FlyQuest got a 4/0/3 kill/death/assist effort from Iranian-Canadian Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek. Eain “APA” Stearns led Liquid with two kills.

NRG became the only other team with a winning record in group play thanks to a 39-minute win over 100 Thieves. The only team to win on red Saturday, NRG used a 6/1/9 effort from Australian-Chinese botlaner Victor “FBI” Huang and a 4/5/11 showing by Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun to edge 100 Thieves.

In the day’s final match, Edward “Tactical” Ra posted an 8/1/11 to pace Immortals to a 32-minute win over Shopify Rebellion in a battle of the only two winless teams entering the day.

Week 2 comes to an end Sunday with four more matches:
