Top-seeded Henry “Henry” Leverette, the highest-earning player in Madden Championship Series history, will square off with 10th-seeded Wesley “Wesley” Gittens in the Ultimate Madden Bowl final.

Both advanced with semifinal victories on Thursday. The championship match, with the winner earning $250,000 and the runner-up $150,000, will be held Feb. 9 in Las Vegas as part of the Super Bowl festivities.

Henry, a 20-year-old from Chicago, has earned $920,975 in MCS competition.

“The fact that I’m about to hit ($1 million), hopefully I can get the (championship) ring as well,” Henry said. “I can’t even fight with Madden players. I’m going to have to look at other games. I’m going to have to start attacking FIFA players.”

Asked about his top priority, Henry said, “It’s going to be the (championship) ring. The $1 million, I’m going to get that next year for sure. … That ring, man.”

In the semifinals, Henry posted a 27-17 victory over fifth-seeded Tyjhir “TJ” Joyner. TJ is a 20-year-old rookie from Dover, Del.

Wesley edged 11th-seeded Jacob “Fancy” Worthington 27-24 in the first semifinal, kicking a 34-yard field goal on the final play to seal the victory.

The last two quarterfinals were contested earlier Thursday.

Fancy routed John “Mr Football 88” Britt IV 34-18 to advance to the semis. Mr Football 88 is a 24-year-old from San Diego.

TJ slipped past Jacob “Cobo” Clause 21-17 in the other Thursday quarterfinal. Cobo is a 20-year-old from Indio, Calif.
