Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mark Giordano has agreed to a two-year deal worth $1.6 million.

The 38-year-old Giordano had 35 points (eight goals, 27 assists) in 75 games while splitting the season with the Seattle Kraken and the Maple Leafs. Toronto acquired him from Seattle in March.

Giordano had two goals and 10 assists in 20 regular-season games with the Maple Leafs. He added two assists in seven playoff games.

Giordano spent his first 14-plus NHL seasons with the Calgary Flames before Seattle selected him in last July’s expansion draft.

Giordano is a three-time All-Star and he won the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenseman for the 2018-19 season. He has 143 goals and 366 assists (509 points) in 949 career regular-season games.

Giordano just completed a six-year, $40.5 million deal.
