Former three-time All-Star outfielder Frank Thomas died on Monday at age 93, the New York Mets announced.

Thomas, who held the Mets’ single-season home run record (34 in 1962) for close to a decade, passed away in Pittsburgh while at an assisted living facility.

Thomas is not to be confused with former Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, who starred with the White Sox in the 1990s.

One of the original Mets in 1962, the club acquired Thomas in a trade just prior to their inaugural season. The right-handed-hitting slugger played for six other clubs besides the Mets in his career, which included an eight-year stint (1951-58) with the Pittsburgh Pirates in which he made All-Star teams in 1954, 1955 and 1958.

In 1,766 major league games, he clobbered 286 home runs and hit .266 with 962 RBIs in a career stretching from 1951-66.
