Glo Navy Glosquitos continued its run through the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Slam Open, winning again on Thursday and becoming the only amateur club remaining among the final eight teams in the event.

Playing in front of a live crowd at District E in Washington, the 26th-seeded Glosquitos came back from down 2-1 to beat third-seeded Knicks Gaming 3-2 and advance to the losers bracket semifinals. The Knicks entered the day as the highest-seeded team remaining in the playoffs. The Glosquitos are the lowest-seeded team remaining.

The Glosquitos will next face No. 6 NBL OZ Gaming, who swept the other amateur club alive entering Thursday, 31st-seeded Glitchy.

In the other half of the losers bracket, the second-highest seeded team still alive also lost, as No. 17 Celtics Crossover Gaming beat No. 5 Cavs Legion GC 3-2 — also winning the last two games after falling behind 2-1.

No. 7 Wizards Gaming District topped eighth-seeded Jazz Gaming in another five-game match. The Jazz were up 2-1 but failed to put away the Wizards in the fourth game, setting up the winner-take-all game.

The playoffs began in a best-of-five, double-elimination format, with the opening rounds played remotely. In the finals, the winners of the winners and losers brackets will play for the championship, with the winners bracket winner needing one win and the losers bracket winner needing to sweep two games in the finals.

All 25 professional teams advanced to the playoffs, with group-play records determining seeding. The top seven teams from the community competition filled out the final seven seeds.
