Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth is expected to miss Sunday’s game versus the Los Angeles Rams after aggravating his hamstring injury in practice, NFL Network reported Friday.

Per the report, Freiermuth had an MRI on Friday morning.

He initially sustained the injury with 6:53 left in the third quarter of a 30-6 loss to the host Houston Texans on Oct. 1. He did not return to the contest.

Freiermuth, 24, has eight receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns in four games this season. He has 131 catches for 1,282 yards and 11 scores since being selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Steelers (3-2) will lean on Connor Heyward and rookie Darnell Washington at the tight end spot for Sunday’s game against the host Rams (3-3).

Pittsburgh released special teams veteran and wide receiver Gunner Olszewski, NFL Network reported Friday.

Olszewski, 26, played only 13 total snaps in two games this season, returning one punt and two kickoffs and catching one pass for no gain.

He has recorded 2,052 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in 55 games (four starts) with the New England Patriots (2019-21) and Steelers. He earned All-Pro first-team honors as a special teamer in 2020.
