Tyreek Hill caught five passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns, and the Miami Dolphins pulled away for a 45-15 win over the host Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon in Landover, Md.

Tua Tagovailoa completed 18 of 24 passes for 280 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Miami (9-3), which won its third straight game. De’Von Achane scored two rushing touchdowns and Raheem Mostert added one.

Sam Howell completed 12 of 23 passes for 127 yards and an interception for Washington (4-9). Howell rushed for two touchdowns as the Commanders lost their fourth in a row.

Miami raced to a 17-0 lead before the end of the first quarter.

Hill started the scoring with a 78-yard touchdown reception on the Dolphins’ opening drive. He got behind the secondary, caught a pass from Tagovailoa near midfield and outraced a pair of Commanders defenders to the end zone.

A 49-yard field goal by Jason Sanders increased Miami’s lead to 10-0 with 3:39 left in the quarter.

The Dolphins’ defense capped off the fast start. Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel picked off a screen pass by Howell and raced 33 yards for his first career pick-6.

Washington got on the scoreboard on a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Howell early in the second quarter. That cut Miami’s lead to 17-7.

The Dolphins added two more touchdowns to carry a 31-7 lead into the half.

Hill scored on another big play as he notched a 60-yard touchdown with 9:14 remaining. His speed again proved to be too much for the Commanders as he got behind the secondary.

Mostert followed with a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the final minute of the half.

On the opening drive of the third quarter, Miami increased its lead to 38-7. Achane scored on a 4-yard run to finish off a nine-play, 75-yard drive.

Howell tallied his second rushing touchdown of the game with 4:31 left in the third quarter. He found Logan Thomas for a two-point conversion to trim the deficit to 38-15.

Achane followed suit with his second rushing touchdown of the game with 1:57 remaining. His 2-yard run gave Miami 40-plus points for the third time this season.
