Nazem Kadri collected one goal and one assist as the host Calgary Flames snapped a five-game losing skid with a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Martin Pospisil, Blake Coleman and MacKenzie Weegar also scored for the Flames (34-34-5, 73 points), while Andrei Kuzmenko and Yegor Sharangovich both posted a pair of assists and goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 16 saves.

Adrian Kempe scored once and added an assist while Anze Kopitar also tallied for the Kings (38-24-11, 87 points), who have dropped two straight games and hold the Western Conference’s second wild-card spot. Goalie David Rittich stopped 31 shots and Kevin Fiala collected two assists in the loss.

Calgary is all but officially eliminated from playoff contention but delivered a strong performance from the drop of the puck.

Kadri opened the scoring at the 4:45 mark with his 24th goal of the season. During a power play, he set up in the slot and converted a Kuzmenko pass.

Kempe replied 57 seconds later with a power-play goal of his own. From just inside the right circle, he drove a one-timer for his 23rd of the campaign.

Pospisil restored Calgary’s lead at 11:56 of the opening period with his eighth of the season. Kuzmenko slipped a pass across the crease for Pospisil to bury.

Coleman made it a 3-1 game with Calgary’s second power-play goal of the night at 11:58 of the second period. Coleman was on the spot for a rebound to net his 29th of the campaign.

Kopitar pulled the Kings within one with another power-play goal late in the second period. The Kings captain took a cross-ice feed from Kempe and quickly whipped a shot from the left circle for his 25th goal of the season.

However, Weegar again put the Flames up by a pair with another man-advantage marker 11:30 into the third period. Off a face-off win, Weegar’s point shot found the mark for his 18th goal of the season.
