Midfielder Chardonnay Curran signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Red Stars.

The deal, announced Thursday, runs through the 2025 NWSL season.

The Red Stars acquired her rights from the Kansas City Current through the end-of-season waiver wire process.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity that the Red Stars are giving to me, and I’m excited about the vision that the new ownership and staff have for this next year,” said Curran, a 24-year-old Hawaii native.

Curran played collegiately at Oregon before the Current selected her 17th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft. She played in 30 games (four starts) over two seasons in Kansas City but has yet to record her first NWSL goal.
