Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was scratched from Friday night’s road game against the Phoenix Suns due to hip and knee injuries.

Gilgeous-Alexander is dealing with a flexor strain of his left hip and soreness in his right ankle.

The 24-year-old played 41 minutes in Thursday’s 120-119 overtime loss to the host Utah Jazz. He recorded 39 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and had a chance to win the contest but his 16-foot bank shot went in-and-out as time expired in overtime.

Gilgeous-Alexander entered Friday as the league’s fifth-leading scorer at 31 points per game.

Isaiah Joe started in place of Gilgeous-Alexander. Joe is averaging 8.3 points and is tied for third in the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage at 44.9.
