De’Vion Harmon scored a season-high 22 points as Texas Tech rolled to a 111-67 win over visiting Houston Christian on Wednesday afternoon in Lubbock, Texas.

The win was Texas Tech’s fifth straight after losing twice in the Maui Invitational in November and its 28th consecutive victory at home.

The Red Raiders (9-2) have one more game to play — on Dec. 27 at home against South Carolina State — before beginning Big 12 Conference play at TCU on Dec. 31.

The Red Raiders rolled to a 24-point advantage late in the first half before taking 49-28 lead into halftime. Texas Tech cruised in the second half and scored more than 100 points for the second straight game.

Kevin Obanor also had 22 points for the Red Raiders, with Daniel Batcho adding 12 points and 10 rebounds after missing two games with an ankle injury. Jaylon Tyson chipped in 11 points. All 12 of the players that saw the court for Texas Tech scored in the game as the Red Raiders shot 62.5 percent from the floor.

Brycen Long led the Huskies (3-10) with 21 points while Bonke Maring added 13. Houston Christian coach Ron Cottrell was ejected from the game with 7:09 to play for back-to-back technical fouls.

The Red Raiders set the pace early, scoring the game’s first six points and building a 17-6 lead after a layup by Lamar Washington at the 14:59 mark of the first half. A layup by Obanor with 10:31 to play in the half stoked the Texas Tech advantage to 27-9 and another layup, this one by KJ Allen with 7:48 left in the half pushed the lead to 34-12.

A 9-0 run by the Huskies capped by a layup by Maring allowed Houston Christian to pull to within 34-21 with 5:03 left before halftime. But the Red Raiders responded with a 15-7 run to close the half.

Harmon led Texas Tech with 13 points before halftime while Long paced the Huskies, also with 13 points. The Red Raiders outshot Houston Christian 58.8 percent to 37.9 percent in the half and forced 13 turnovers that they turned into 18 points.
