Olivier-Maxence Prosper poured in 24 points and Marquette’s defense did the rest as the Golden Eagles flew to a 96-70 win over No. 6 Baylor on Tuesday in a Big 12/Big East Battle game in Milwaukee.

Kam Jones added 20 points and David Joplin scored 19 as Marquette (6-2) recorded its most one-sided win against a Top 10 team in 51 years. Shaka Smart improved to 7-6 against ranked opponents in his two seasons as Marquette’s coach.

LJ Cryer led Baylor (5-2) with 19 points while Adam Flagler added 16 and Keyonte George had 12. It was the Bears’ worst loss since a 102-74 setback at Kansas on Jan. 2, 2016.

No. 1 Houston 100, Norfolk State 52

Marcus Sasser scored a game-high 25 points to lead five players in double figures as the Cougars crushed the visiting Spartans.

Sasser shot 8 of 15, including 7 of 12 from 3-point range, and added four assists for Houston (7-0), while Tramon Mark added 16 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Norfolk State (5-3) was led by Kris Bankston’s 14 points and four rebounds, while Caheim Brown added 11 points.

No. 3 Virginia 70, Michigan 68

Reece Beekman scored 18 points and the Cavaliers outscored the Wolverines by 13 points in the second half to pull out a victory in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Ann Arbor, Mich.

No. 16 Illinois 73, Syracuse 44

Coleman Hawkins registered the fifth triple-double in school history as the Illini posted a comfortable win over the Orange in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge contest in Champaign, Ill.

Hawkins finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The Fighting Illini (6-1) improved to 5-0 at home despite shooting 35.8 percent, including 28.2 percent from 3-point range. Skyy Clark was 0 of 10 from the floor and 0 of 7 from long range, while Terrence Shannon Jr. went 5 of 17 from the field en route to a team-high 17 points.

The Orange (3-4) authored some ugly shooting percentages of their own, knocking down just 27.8 percent. Jesse Edwards had nine points, 17 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals for Syracuse, which has dropped three straight games.

No. 19 Kentucky 60, Bellarmine 41

Sharpshooter CJ Fredrick hit a pair of 3-pointers and totaled eight points to spark a crucial second-half run, lifting the Wildcats to a victory over the pesky Knights in Lexington, Ky.

Fredrick, who finished with 11 points, helped Kentucky (5-2) outscore the visiting Knights (2-6) 23-3 over a 10-minute period for a 51-35 lead with 6:07 left. Antonio Reeves led Kentucky with 18 points and had five rebounds, and Jacob Toppin had 12 points and five rebounds.

No. 22 Maryland 79, Louisville 54

Donta Scott scored 18 points and Jahmir Young added 15 points and five assists as the Terrapins blitzed the host Cardinals early and cruised to a victory in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Maryland (7-0) never trailed, racing to an early 14-point advantage. Then, early in the second half, the Terrapins hit the Cardinals with a long-range assault to establish a lead that Louisville never challenged.

The Cardinals (0-7) got 15 points from El Ellis as they matched a seven-game losing streak from last year, which was their longest single-season skid since the 1940-41 season.

No. 24 San Diego State 72, UC Irvine 69

Micah Parrish buried a corner 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left to lead the Aztecs to a victory over the visiting Anteaters that snapped a two-game losing streak.

Nathan Mensah scored a season-high 18 points for San Diego State (5-2). Parrish’s trey gave the Aztecs a 71-69 lead. Adam Seiko intercepted a long UC Irvine pass and split two free throws with 0.8 seconds left, and the Anteaters couldn’t get off a shot before the buzzer.

DJ Davis scored a career-best 28 points for the Anteaters (6-2), who had a three-game winning streak halted. Dawson Baker added 14 points.
