Walmart announced that it will sell its customers MacBook Airs with M1 chips. The giant retailer said the new product sale continued its policy of delivering high-quality goods at affordable rates that were the best. The nation’s largest retailer said this is the first time a MacBook Air can be bought directly from Walmart.
Walmart said that the MacBook Air is available directly from its website and will soon be available in select Walmart stores. The big box retailer said that it would cost $699.
Julie Barber, the executive vice president of Merchandising at Walmart U.S., said Walmart’s mission is to “help customers save money so they can live better—it’s not an either/or proposition.”
Barber also noted that the giant retailer believed that quality should not be sacrificed because of price. She mentioned that the company strives to bring premium brands that will be available online on their site as well as on the shelves of their stores. She said that working with Apple was helping them follow this mission.
Apple introduced the M3 MacBook Air last week with a starting price of $1099. It has dropped the price of the M2 MacBook Air to $999. The M1 MacBook Air is no longer available at Apple’s App Store and was last sold at $999.
Walmart is selling the M1 MacBook Air for $699. This is a reasonable price for a brand-new MacBook. Apple Certified Refurbished Products, including an M1 MacBook Air, was recently available for $759, so the deal from Walmart is appealing, especially for those who might be trying a MacBook Air for the first time. It is also affordable for those who have not bought it because of its earlier price of $999.
