Mouhamed Gueye scored 21 points and DJ Rodman added 18 as Washington State led wire to wire in an 80-62 win over Oregon State on Thursday night in Pullman, Wash.

TJ Bamba scored 14 points and Andrej Jakimovski had 13 points and eight rebounds for Washington State (12-15, 7-9 Pac-12), which shot 59.2 percent from the field and 14 of 24 (58.3 percent) from 3-point range.

Freshman Tyler Bilodeau matched his career high with 18 points to lead Oregon State (10-17, 4-12), which lost for the 12th time in 13 games away from Corvallis. Michael Rataj added 11 points and six rebounds.

The Beavers struggled to build on their strong outing last Saturday, when they snapped a three-game losing streak with a 61-58 win over Southern California.

Washington State opened the game on an 11-0 run and stretched its lead to 34-16 on Gueye’s dunk with 9:20 remaining in the half.

The Cougars made their first eight 3-point attempts and held a 44-30 lead at the break after shooting 64 percent from the field and 9 of 13 (69.2 percent) from beyond the arc.

After shooting under 40 percent from the field in six of its previous seven games, Washington State carried its hot shooting night into the second half.

The Beavers fell behind 63-45 with 11:30 remaining in the contest after Jakimovski and Jabe Mullins hit consecutive 3-pointers.

Washington State maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half and held a 71-49 advantage after Rodman scored with 7:42 to play.

The Cougars have won three straight against Oregon State, which shot 48.1 percent from the field and 5 of 19 (26.3 percent) from 3-point range.

Gueye shot 9 of 9 from the field and had four assists. The 6-foot-11 sophomore, who averages a team-best 8.5 rebounds, didn’t pull down a single board on Thursday.
