Celebrity host Tucker Carlson recently stepped away from the Fox network, about a week after the giant media network settled a case with Dominion Voting Systems. The last episode of The Tucker Carlson Show was aired on April 21. Tucker Carlson was replaced by Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade and a new report says that Lawrence Jones will step in next week.

Page Six reported that the youngest black solo host of the program, Lawrence Jones will replace Carlson on Fox. The 30-year-old anchor currently hosts Lawrence Jones Cross Country on Saturday nights on Fox. From Monday, he will host at 8 p.m. the prime-time slot on Fox that was formerly occupied by Tucker Carlson.

The outlet also said that a media insider told them that the network was “trying out a rotating list of anchors” to fill in the slot. Brian Kilmeade took this week’s spot, while Lawrence Jones will start next week. The insider said that it was “significant that they have chosen Jones to step up so soon after Tucker’s departure.”

Lawrence Jones is a native of Garland, Texas. He joined the Fox network in 2018. Almost four years later, he was named as host for “Lawrence Jones Cross Country”, a weekend primetime program. He gets about 1 million viewers in his 10 p.m. slot that has been on air since January 2022.

Jones lives in Texas. He has been traveling to New York on Fridays and Saturdays for his shows. The rest of the week is taken up with work for Fox & Friends, for which he is an enterprise reporter and national correspondent.

Lawrence Jones has had a long career reporting national event. He worked for the Obama campaign when he was 15. He has reported live from the Uvalde mass shooting in Texas. He has also reported on other major incidents including Tyre Nichols’ death, the Idaho murders, national protests after George Floyd’s death, how minority communities were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and more.
