According to a report in a popular sports magazine, billionaire Jeff Bezos would be interested in buying NFL Seahawks, if given the opportunity to do so. An earlier report had said that Commanders’ owner Daniel Snyder sidelined the Amazon founder at a reported private auction. Many NFL owners are waiting to welcome the Amazon (AMZN) founder to their midst as he has shown interest in buying a team.

Albert Breer mentioned the possibility of billionaire Bezos’ interest in the Seahawks as Synder appears to be keeping the Amazon founder out of potential bids for the Washington team, in Sports Illustrated. He also mentioned that he was not sure that Dan Snyder would sell his NFL franchise.
In 2019, the Washington Post had published a report that although the Seattle Seahawks was not for sale, Jeff Bezos had expressed “an interest in buying the Seahawks.”
Paul G. Allen trust owns the NFL franchise Seattle Seahawks. Allen’s sister Jody is listed as the Chair of the franchise. In October 2018, Jody was officially named as chair after the death of her brother Paul.
According to reports from several outlets in November, Dan and Tanya Snyder had announced that Bank of America Securities had been retained by them for a possible sale of the North East franchise. Jeff Bezos had reportedly shown interest in buying the Commanders.
Last week The New York Post reported that Jeff Bezos was allegedly not allowed to bid at the auction, although he was interested in the NFL franchise. The reason that was mentioned was that The Washington Post, owned by the billionaire, had published reports about the toxic culture that was prevalent in the Commanders organization.
In July, Jody Allen released a statement saying that the Seahawks franchise was not for sale. In August, according to Forbes the Seahawks were listed as the 14th most valuable team with a value of $4.5 billion while Commanders were listed as the sixth most valuable team with a value of $5.6 billion.

As reported by CWeb in an earlier article Dan Synder is under investigation by the league for certain matters as well as by federal prosecutors for allegedly taking a $55 million loan from a leading bank in America without the consent of his then minority partners in the Commanders’ franchise.
