Homeland favorite Barbora Krejcikova will face top-seeded Iga Swiatek of Poland in Sunday’s final at the Agel Open in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The unseeded Krejcikova rallied for a 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 win against Wimbledon champ Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan in Saturday’s semifinals. Krejcikova became the first Czech player to make the final in the event’s three-year history, despite 17 aces from Rybakina.

Swiatek also went the distance in her match against Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova, winning 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4 in two hours and 38 minutes. In the decisive set, Swiatek broke Alexandrova’s serve in the seventh game to take control.

No. 3 seed Alize Cornet of France advanced to her first final of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in Tunisia against No. 2 Veronika Kudermetova of Russia.

Cornet has not lost a set all week and is looking for her first title since 2018. She took advantage of 50 unforced errors by Kudermetova while making just 24 of her own.

Cornet’s opponent Sunday is No. 5 seed Elise Mertens of Belgium, who also reached her first final of the season by cruising to a 6-4, 6-0 victory against American Claire Liu. Mertens converted all five of her break points in the 72-minute match.
