Ben DiNucci threw for three touchdowns and rushed for one more as the host Seattle Sea Dragons secured the last XFL postseason berth with a 28-9 victory over the Vegas Vipers on Sunday.

Fighting for the final playoff berth in the North, Seattle (7-3) and the St. Louis Battlehawks (7-3) both won their respective games this weekend. However, the Sea Dragons advanced to the postseason after owning a tiebreaker — the combined rank of points for and points allowed for all XFL teams. Seattle ranked fifth, while the Battlehawks were seventh.

DiNucci completed 26 of 41 passes for 339 yards and threw two picks. He also had four carries for 41 yards. Josh Gordon finished with nine catches for 115 yards for the Sea Dragons.

Jalan McClendon totaled 201 yards on 6-of-21 passing with a pick for the Vipers (2-8). Shai McKenzie provided Vegas’ only touchdown, scoring on a 1-yard rush late in the fourth quarter.

Roughnecks 25, Renegades 9

Jeremy Cox racked up 120 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries to power Houston to a victory over host Arlington in a preview of the XFL South Division championship game.

Houston (7-3) finished the regular season with three straight wins. The Roughnecks will host Arlington (4-6) on Saturday to decide which team will play in the inaugural championship game of the latest iteration of the XFL.

Quarterback Cole McDonald scored on a 10-yard rush and Cox added a 5-yard score in the first quarter to give Houston a lead it would not relinquish. McDonald finished 10-for-11 passing for 120 yards and an interception and added 66 rushing yards on eight attempts. Luis Perez went 22-for-36 passing for 205 yards and an interception for the Renegades, who clinched a spot in the division title game by way of San Antonio’s loss Saturday.
