Police officers arrived at the scene within three minutes after being notified of an active shooter at the Old National Bank location in Louisville. Police said, the lone shooter in the incident is identified as someone who did have a connection to the bank location and is deceased. The shooter was loaded with a semi- automatic weapon.
Information is not clear as of this time, but it is believed that the shooter may have been an employee of the bank. It seems to be a workplace violent incident, but that information has not been confirmed at this time. Police will be contacting any persons closely related or around the shooter to see if they can learn what a motive for this incident was.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. and police who reacted quickly “encountered the suspect almost immediately, still firing gunshots.”

The shooting claimed the lives of two of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s (D) close friends and injured a second. Authorities revealed at a news conference that the shooter was connected to the downtown Louisville bank that was the target of the shooting on Monday.
Officers and the suspect exchanged gunfire, and the suspect died at the scene, according to LMPD Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey. A variety of unknown variables may have contributed to the shooter’s death.
Police reported that eight individuals were hurt and transferred to University Hospital, and that four people died. It has been established that two of the victims were LMPD officers.
