On Wednesday, five family members were discovered dead inside their Phoenix home, in what investigators are treating as a homicide. The identities and ages of the five people were not immediately released, but the couple who lived at the home had 6-month-old twin girls and a 3-year-old boy, according to CBS station KPHO-TV. According to police, the two adults and three children had “clear evidence of trauma,” and they were not looking for a suspect in the deaths.

Police and firefighters arrived at the home on West Augusta Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. Sgt. Melissa Soliz of the Phoenix Police Department stated that they discovered natural gas after responding to a complaint of a possible hazardous materials investigation and an unresponsive individual inside.

Two parents and three children were discovered dead in the house, “with unmistakable evidence of trauma,” according to Soliz. By Wednesday afternoon, police had not established if it was a murder-suicide. Soliz stated that investigators do not believe a serial killer is on the loose. Southwest Gas was switched off the gas that was being supplied to the residence out of caution. There is no immediate danger to the community, according to the police.

An aerial footage from the location shows a massive propane tank in a cordoned-off area near a house, with cops on the lookout for a possible gas leak. It was unclear where or how the natural gas came from.

Soliz stated that all five people were linked. Their names and ages were withheld pending notification of next of kin, she explained. Phoenix police and fire, as well as Glendale fire, the ATF, and the US Marshals, are all on the site, but have yet to confirm the nature of the event.
