Bucks’ Damian Lillard returns for Game 6 at Pacers; Giannis out

Milwaukee Bucks star guard Damian Lillard will return Thursday evening for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference first-round series against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

Lillard sat out the last two games with a right Achilles injury for the Bucks, who trail 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. The eight-time All-Star averaged 32.3 points in the first three games of the series.

Lillard was upgraded from doubtful to questionable earlier in the day, and coach Doc Rivers told reporters that both Lillard and two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo would go through pregame workouts before the team made a decision on their availability.

Though Lillard is back, Antetokounmpo was ruled out on the official pregame injury report as he deals with a calf injury sustained in an April 9 victory against the Boston Celtics.

Without the All-Stars in the lineup for Game 5, Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis scored 29 points apiece in Milwaukee’s 115-92 victory over Indiana on Tuesday.
