On Tuesday, boxing world champ, celebrity Gervonta Davis, was arrested in Parkland, Florida, and jailed on a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm. Davis is still being held at Broward County’s Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale following a court hearing on Wednesday morning. His’ arrest and the allegations are not fully disclosed, as yet.
Also known as “Tank,” the 28-year-old boxer turned himself to the police a few days after the video went viral on Twitter and was charged with simple battery domestic violence. According to the arrest report at the time, the victim suffered injuries to her lip and jaw.
The champion has a history of domestic violence arrests. In 2020, he was caught on video grabbing his ex-girlfriend – and his child’s mother – by the throat during a charity basketball game at the University of Miami.

Davis, one of the best boxers in America, is known for his fighting skills and knockout power. His arrest comes just over a week before he is scheduled to return to the ring against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in Washington, DC, as part of a Premier Boxing Champions event on Showtime pay-per-view. The boxer is one of the sport’s most popular fighters, and an April bout against Ryan Garcia, agreed in principle at a catchweight of 136 pounds, has the potential to be one of the year’s biggest combat sports events.
