Celebrity singer Ricky Martin and husband Jwan Yousef decided to file for divorce more than a month ago. Now, the celebrity singer has handed over substantial financial records to his ex to speed up divorce proceedings, according to court documents obtained by a popular outlet. Ricky Martin and Jwan Yousef were married for six years and share two children.
Radar Online reported that court documents showed that the singer and his lawyers have provided information about his income and expenses. The documents also detail his assets and liabilities. A list of community and separation property has also been submitted. All these documents are required for the first step in a divorce proceeding.
Ricky Martin has asked for joint custody of the kids they share—daughter Lucia who is four years old and son Renn who is three years old. Ricky Martin also has two twin boys called Matteo and Valentino, who were born in 2008. He will raise them as a single parent.
Earlier the celebrity couple had released a statement to PEOPLE that stated that they had ended their “marriage with love, respect and dignity” for their children and more.
The joint statement by Ricky Martin and Jwan Yousef also mentioned that they would maintain a “healthy family dynamic” that would center on “peace and friendship” and that they would jointly bring up their children while “preserving the respect and love” they had for each other.
Ricky Martin and Jwan Yousef met on social media in 2015. The young artist and the older singer began dating and confirmed their relationship the next year. They announced their engagement in 2016 and got married in 2017.
The Livin’ La Vida Loca singer is now 51 years old while his ex-artist Jwan Yousef is 38 years old. Ricky Martin will be acting in an upcoming Apple TV Plus series called Palm Royale. Other celebrity cast members include popular comedians Kristen Wiig and Carol Burnett. He will also be touring with celebrity singers Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias, much to the delight of their web fans.
