Creamy Shrimp Pasta with White Wine Sauce Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional for added spice)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Shrimp:
    • Heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.
    • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
    • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
    • Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare White Wine Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the white wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze and pick up any flavorful bits.
    • Allow the wine to simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Add Cream and Chicken Broth:
    • Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
    • Simmer the mixture for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
    • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Combine Shrimp and Pasta:
    • Add the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the creamy sauce.
    • Allow the shrimp to heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Finish and Garnish:
    • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
    • Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for some heat if desired.
    • Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, coating it evenly with the creamy shrimp sauce.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  7. Serve:
    • If desired, plate the creamy shrimp pasta and sprinkle additional Parmesan and parsley.
    • Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious shrimp pasta with white wine cream sauce.
