CSGO News: MOUZ, Liquid clinch playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 19

MOUZ and Team Liquid have qualified for the playoff stage of the ESL Pro League Season 19 playoffs by coming out of the Group C upper bracket Saturday in Saint Julian’s, Malta.

MOUZ defeated Liquid 2-0 in the group upper bracket final.

Also in Group C on Saturday, Monte and FURIA Esports advanced with wins and the pair will meet Sunday in the lower bracket final. GamerLegion has already qualified from the mid bracket in Group C.

Meanwhile, FlyQuest and Ninjas in Pyjamas earned wins to advance to the Group D lower bracket final on Sunday.

The $750,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with 32 teams broken up into four groups of eight. Group-stage winners advance to the quarterfinals; runners-up advance to the Round of 12 as the high seeds; third-place teams advance to the Round of 16 as the high seeds; and fourth-place teams advance to the Round of 16 as the low seeds.

The group stage is triple-elimination with upper, middle and lower brackets. All matches are best-of-three until the grand final, which is best-of-five.

The tournament runs through May 12. The winner earns $170,000 and qualifies for the IEM Cologne 2024 event.

On Saturday, MOUZ beat Liquid 13-11 on Nuke and 13-7 on Mirage. Israel’s Dorian “xertioN” Berman led MOUZ with 36 kills.

Monte beat FORZE Esports 2-1, opening with a 13-11 win on Nuke. FORZE responded with a 13-10 win on Mirage before Monte clinched with a 16-12 win on Ancient. Ukraine’s Sergiy “DemQQ” Demchenko led Monte with 66 kills and a plus-15 kills-to-deaths differential.

FURIA swept ENCE, winning 13-9 on Nuke and 13-8 on Mirage.

In Group D, FlyQuest advanced with a 2-1 win over Pera Esports, winning 13-11 on Anubis and 13-8 on Ancient. The wins sandwiched a 13-5 win on Mirage by Pera Esports.

NiP beat HEROIC in a reverse sweep. HEROIC opened with a 13-8 win on Vertigo. NiP responded with a 13-10 win on Nuke and 13-10 win on Anubis. NiP held an 8-4 lead before HEROIC rallied to knot the map at 10-10. NiP won the last three rounds.

The group stage continues Sunday with three matches:
–Monte vs. FURIA Esports (Group C lower bracket final)
–Complexity vs. Natus Vincere (Group D upper bracket final)
–FlyQuest vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas (Group D lower bracket final)
