Authorities report that five police officers were shot and injured early on Thursday near Princeton, Minnesota. The suspect was still not in custody after several hours.
According to the Associated Press, none of the injuries sustained by the officers seemed to be life-threatening. The police officers came from a number of agencies, but Robbinsdale Police Capt. John Elder could not disclose which.
In its first statement, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office gave only a few specifics. The agency reported that many other public safety agencies were assisting it with a “critical incident” that was taking place in Glendorado Township, a few miles west of Princeton. Despite being asked to stay away from the area, it stated that there was no danger to the general population.
There were multiple law enforcement cars at the site, according to a video from KMSP-TV.

Fox 9 reported that the first police officer who was shot, according to a man who identified himself as his best friend, is out of surgery after suffering two chest gunshot wounds and one other body wound.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., an individual clad in a crimson robe was observed approaching law enforcement personnel stationed outside the property. They raised their arms briefly before returning to the residence. WCCO news teams observed the presence of sheriff’s deputies from Benton and Sherburn counties, in addition to Minnesota State Patrol units. Additionally, SWAT vehicles were spotted at the location, and aerial surveillance was being conducted by at least one helicopter.
