Luxury brand Louis Vuitton has brought together two of the G.O.A.T. footballers together in an ad where they play a nice, quiet classic game. The classic board game is chess and the two legendary players face each other off the field, across a chess board, looking thoughtful instead of looking dangerous on the field.
The new campaign that was posted on Saturday, just a day before the FIFA World Cup begins, on Sunday, consists of a photo of the celebrity footballers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo contemplating their next move on a chess board. The signature squares on top of a Louis Vuitton suitcase serve as the board.
Louis Vuitton’s caption on the photo says “Victory is a State of Mind.” The French luxury brand tags both the footballers as well as photographer Annie Leibovitz and the brand. The post also says, “In addition to a long tradition of crafting trunks for the world’s most coveted sporting trophies, the Maison celebrates two of the most talented football players today.”
