Dean Kremer pitched seven strong innings and the Baltimore Orioles beat the visiting New York Yankees for the second straight night, prevailing 4-2 on Tuesday.

Kremer (2-2) allowed two runs on two hits and four walks. He struck out four batters and threw 93 pitches. Jacob Webb got the final four outs — including striking out Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo — for his first save.

Adley Rutschman had two hits and an RBI for the Orioles, who helped their pitchers by turning three double plays.

Austin Wells and Juan Soto each hit a home run and a single for the Yankees.

Yankees starter Nestor Cortes (1-3) went six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits. He struck out five and walked two while taking his first loss to the Orioles in 10 career appearances, including eight starts.

With New York trailing 4-2 in the eighth, Anthony Volpe singled off Keegan Akin with one out. After Akin retired Soto, Webb came to face Judge and struck him out with a 3-2 changeup to end the inning.

The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Anthony Santander doubled and Jordan Westburg grounded to Gleyber Torres at second. Torres tried to get Santander racing to third, but the throw hit Santander, who scored on the error.

Wells tied it when he led off the third inning with a home run to center, his first of the year.

The Orioles loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the third, but Westburg flied out.

Jorge Mateo doubled leading off the Baltimore fourth and scored when James McCann doubled with one out. Colton Cowser singled McCann to third and Gunnar Henderson reached on an infield single, scoring McCann. Rutschman followed with a line-drive single to right center, knocking in Cowser to make it 4-1.

With one out in the sixth, Soto homered to right-center off Kremer to cut the lead to 4-2. It was Soto’s eighth long ball of the year.

The series continues with games Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.
