Nashville SC must move on after a success. The Colorado Rapids are eager for their next match as well.

The teams meet Saturday night at Commerce City, Colo.

The match will mark the only home outing for the Rapids (0-1-0, 0 points) in their first four outings. They lost last week’s opener 4-1 to the Portland Timbers.

“I’m kind of growing into having more of a voice,” said Keegan Rosenberry, who’s in his first season as captain of the Rapids. “I don’t think anybody envisioned what happened in Portland. Big disappointment, but I think it is just one match and we get a chance to right the ship, come home, show these fans what this team’s true potential is.”

Nashville SC (0-0-1, 1 points) began MLS play with a scoreless draw versus visiting New York Red Bulls on Sunday. Nashville SC team defeated Moca FC 4-0 in CONCACAF Champions Cup play Wednesday night.

“It was an amazing team performance,” Nashville SC forward Jacob Shaffelburg said. “Now we’re looking forward to going to Colorado and playing a real good team with a lot of new additions.”

So many things went wrong for the Rapids in their opener, including yielding an own goal, that they aren’t likely to dwell too much on that result.

“There’s things we can correct,” Rosenberry said. “On a different day, things go differently. Not going to put too much stock into it and we can’t wait until Saturday.”

A better start might do wonders for the Rapids.

“We want to have urgency from the start,” Colorado coach Chris Armas said. “It was tough to recover. We want to make sure from the start we’re ready to go play on the front foot.”

Expecting an encouraging home crowd, the Rapids should be full of energy for the home opener.

“We want Nashville to feel that environment,” Armas said. “We know we will have that with our fans. They’re loud, they get behind the team. We want to give them something to be cheering about and excited about by the way we play and in the way we go after this game.”

Rapids midfielder Djordje Mihailovic has returned to play in the MLS. This will be his first home opener with Colorado.

“I know how much passion (the fans) have for the club,” Mihailovic said. “And we have to reward them with some good performances and wins.”
