Stetson Bennett threw for a touchdown and ran for another in less than three quarters as No. 2 Georgia scored on its first six possessions en route to a 33-0 victory over visiting Samford on Saturday in Athens, Ga.

Bennett completed at least one pass to 12 receivers, finishing with 300 yards on 24-for-34 passing before being replaced by Carson Beck with 2:34 left in the third quarter and Georgia up 30-0.

Kenny McIntosh had five receptions for 61 yards while tight end Brock Bowers caught three passes for 57 yards. Kendall Milton rushed for 85 yards on 10 carries and Daijun Edwards added 23 yards on six attempts.

Beck went 5-for-7 for 52 yards and Paul Podlesny made four of his five field-goal attempts, with his lone miss from 54 yards.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart and Samford coach Chris Hatcher agreed to play a 12-minute fourth quarter — not the standard 15 — due to the lopsided score.

Georgia (2-0) outgained Samford 479-128 and held it to just three first downs, including just one in the first half.

Samford (1-1) quarterback Michael Hiers went 13-for-21 passing for 62 yards, in addition to rushing for 11 yards on four carries.

After Georgia settled for short field goals by Podlesny on its first two drives, Georgia found the end zone on its next possession when Bennett’s three-yard run capped a seven-play, 71-yard drive to extend the lead to 13-0 with 22 seconds left in the first quarter.

Georgia pushed the lead to 20-0 on Bennett’s three-yard touchdown pass to Dillon Bell with 8:48 left in the half. Podlesny’s 26-yard field goal made it 23-0 with 5:01 left in the second quarter.

McIntosh’s 1-yard run gave Georgia a 30-0 lead, capping the first-half scoring with 55 seconds left.

Podlesny tacked on a 25-yard field goal less than a minute into the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.
