Coastal Carolina is finalizing a deal to name North Carolina State offensive coordinator Tim Beck as the Chanticleers’ new head coach, ESPN reported Sunday.
It is a five-year contract that will pay Beck nearly $1 million per season, per the report.
Beck would replace Jamey Chadwell, who was introduced as the head coach at Liberty on Sunday.
Chadwell compiled a 39-22 record in five seasons with the Chanticleers, including a 9-3 record in 2022.
Beck, 56, joined the Wolfpack in 2020 following previous coaching stops at Texas (2017-19), Ohio State (2015-16), Nebraska (2018-14) and Kansas (2005-07).
Beck has head coaching experience at the high school level but this is his first shot in the collegiate ranks.
NC State averaged 25.3 points and 343.5 yards of offense per game during an 8-4 regular season this year.
