Jonathan Marchessault had two goals and an assist, William Karlsson added a goal and an assist and the visiting Vegas Golden Knights defeated Toronto 6-2 on Tuesday, ending the Maple Leafs’ seven-game winning streak.

Ivan Barbashev, Mason Morelli and Nicolas Roy also scored for the Golden Knights, who were 1-4-1 in their previous six games. Vegas’ Shea Theodore added three assists, and Adin Hill stopped 28 shots.

Tyler Bertuzzi and Ryan Reaves scored for the Maple Leafs, and Ilya Samsonov made 26 saves.

Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe was given a game misconduct with two minutes to play, apparently for yelling at a referee.

Red Wings 8, Capitals 3

Shayne Gostisbehere scored twice and streaking Detroit posted a season-high goal total in a lopsided win over visiting Washington.

Lucas Raymond had a goal and two assists as the Red Wings won their sixth straight. Joe Veleno, J.T. Compher and Dylan Larkin each had a goal and an assist. Robby Fabbri and Alex DeBrincat also scored.

Hendrix Lapierre, Michael Sgarbossa and Max Pacioretty scored for the Capitals. Charlie Lindgren made 23 saves.

Penguins 4, Canucks 3 (OT)

Erik Karlsson scored at 1:42 of overtime to lift visiting Pittsburgh over Vancouver.

Rickard Rakell scored two goals, Lars Eller had a goal and an assist, Sidney Crosby registered two assists and Tristan Jarry made 32 saves for the Penguins, who have won three in a row for the first time since Dec. 27-31.

J.T. Miller had a goal and an assist, Nils Hoglander and Brock Boeser also scored and Thatcher Demko turned away 36 shots for the Canucks, who have lost five of their past six games (1-4-1).

Avalanche 5, Stars 1

Andrew Cogliano and Nathan MacKinnon scored 49 seconds apart in a three-goal second period, Alexandar Georgiev had 33 saves, and Colorado beat scuffling Dallas in Denver.

Cogliano and MacKinnon added an assist each, Mikko Rantanen and Artturi Lehkonen also had a goal and an assist and Joel Kiviranta scored for the Avalanche. MacKinnon has at least one point in all 29 home games, the longest home point streak since Mario Lemieux’s 31-game run during the 1995-96 season.

Logan Stankoven scored and Jake Oettinger turned away 22 shots for Dallas, which has lost six of its past seven games.

Panthers 3, Sabres 2

Brandon Montour scored one goal and assisted on the other two as Florida edged Buffalo in Sunrise, Fla.

Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk returned from a one-game injury absence and produced a goal and an assist. Sam Bennett also scored for Florida, which got 28 saves from Sergei Bobrovsky.

The Sabres — who had their season-best three-game win streak snapped — got one goal each from Dylan Cozens and Tage Thompson and 34 saves from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

Flyers 6, Lightning 2

Travis Sanheim and Noah Cates each had a goal and an assist for host Philadelphia, which scored five times in the third period to beat Tampa Bay.

Bobby Brink, Tyson Foerster, Sean Walker and Cam York add a goal apiece for the Flyers, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Samuel Ersson made 20 saves for the win.

Nick Paul and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning, who had won their previous two games. Tampa Bay goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 23 shots.

Devils 7, Sharks 2

Nico Hischier had a goal and three assists and Nico Daws made 29 saves to lead visiting New Jersey over San Jose.

Jack Hughes had a goal and two assists, Jesper Bratt added a goal and an assist and Kevin Bahl, Colin Miller, Brendan Smith and Dawson Mercer also scored for New Jersey. Timo Meier, playing for the first time in San Jose since being traded to the Devils one year and one day earlier, added two assists.

Nico Sturm and Justin Bailey scored for the Sharks, who took their fourth straight loss. Kaapo Kahkonen, who replaced starter Mackenzie Blackwood in the first period, finished with 24 saves. Blackwood stopped all 13 shots he faced before leaving with an undisclosed injury.

Hurricanes 3, Wild 2

Stefan Noesen scored the go-ahead goal with 8:58 remaining in the third period and Carolina held on for a win in Saint Paul, Minn.

Jordan Staal finished with a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, who snapped a two-game skid. Andrei Svechnikov also scored, and Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 28 of 30 shots to earn the victory.

Connor Dewar and Jonas Brodin scored for Minnesota. Ryan Hartman collected two assists for the Wild, who won their previous two games. Filip Gustavsson turned aside 25 of 28 shots.

Flames 4, Kings 2

Yegor Sharangovich broke a third-period deadlock to spark host Calgary to a victory over Los Angeles.

Andrew Mangiapane, Blake Coleman and Mikael Backlund also scored for the Flames, who have won four straight games. Calgary’s Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves and collected his fifth assist of the season, tops among all NHL goalies. Chris Tanev posted two assists.

Kevin Fiala collected a goal and an assist and Phillip Danault also scored for the Kings, who have lost three of four outings. Cam Talbot stopped 33 shots.

Canadiens 4, Coyotes 2

Sam Montembeault stopped 36 shots and Jordan Harris and Joel Armia each had a goal with an assist as host Montreal extended Arizona’s losing streak to 13 games.

The Canadiens snapped a five-game skid thanks in part to goals from Tanner Pearson and Nick Suzuki (empty-netter).

Playing without Clayton Keller (upper-body injury), Arizona had its chances but fell to 0-11-2 in its past 13 contests. Alex Kerfoot and Nick Bjugstad scored for the Coyotes, and Connor Ingram made 17 saves.

Predators 4, Senators 1

Roman Josi (two goals, one assist) and Gustav Nyquist (one goal, two assists) each had three points as streaking Nashville beat visiting Ottawa.

Michael McCarron also scored for the Predators, who have won six consecutive games, matching their longest streak of success this season. Juuse Saros made 24 saves in the victory.

Drake Batherson tallied the only goal for the Senators, who lost for the second time in as many days on their brief two-game road trip. Joonas Korpisalo logged 32 saves.

Jets 4, Blues 2

Sean Monahan had a goal and an assist for Winnipeg in a win over visiting St. Louis.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Josh Morrissey each had two assists for the Jets, who have won four in a row and seven of their past eight games. Laurent Brossoit made 36 saves.

Pavel Buchnevich and Brandon Saad scored, and Joel Hofer made 28 saves for the Blues, who fell to 2-5-0 in their past seven.
