Shoppers beware. After discovering a spider that loves bananas and can give men lasting erections, a store had to be evacuated.
The tiny creature is highly venomous and if you’re a man and get bitten by the creature- its bite can cause an erection that can last for up to four hours, maybe longer. But that’s not all. One of the most poisonous spiders on the globe, it is known to cause hypothermia, blurry eyesight, convulsions, and, in some circumstances, erections in its victims before causing death. Phoneutria, its scientific name, means “murderess” in Greek.
The spider was discovered on Tuesday by the store manager at The Penny shop in Krems an der Dona, forty-five miles west of Vienna.
According to a blog post written by the fire department that was called upon to address the incident, the supermarket branch manager first found the spider while opening banana cartons to put the fruits on the shelves. The blog also details the manager’s description of the creepy object as being “about ten centimeters tall and black and red.” The rescuers initially believed they were going to capture a banana spider, but it eventually became clear that they had captured a Brazilian wandering spider.
45 miles west of Vienna, emergency services were called to the store and advised the crawling intruder which loves bananas might be a Brazilian Wandering Spider. The four-inch black and red spider is known to sneak through banana bunches to go to Europe.
