Texas Tech, winless in Big 12 play entering the night, pulled off the biggest comeback in program history, erasing a 23-point, second-half deficit to stun No. 13 Iowa State 80-77 in overtime on Monday in Lubbock, Texas.

The Red Raiders (12-10, 1-8 Big 12) trailed 59-36 with 12:37 to go in regulation and were still down by seven with 2:36 to play. Texas Tech then displayed suffocating defense and a suddenly effective offense to rally.

Texas Tech’s largest comeback previously was a 99-94 overtime victory against Nevada on Dec. 27, 1997, when the Red Raiders escaped a 17-point deficit.

Caleb Grill, returning to action after a one-game absence caused by a back ailment, led the Cyclones (15-6, 6-3) with 24 points. Gabe Kalscheur added 19 but shot just 8-for-19 from the field, including 0-for-6 from 3-point range.

No. 10 Texas 76, No. 11 Baylor 71

Sir’Jabari Rice hit for 21 points and Marcus Carr canned a crucial bucket to create some late breathing space as the Longhorns beat the Bears in Austin, Texas.

Texas (18-4, 7-2 Big 12) led by seven with 3:25 to play, but Baylor pulled within a point on a three-point play by Keyonte George with 50 seconds remaining. Carr then hit a clutch 14-foot jumper with 27 seconds left to push the lead to three. George missed on a rushed, 30-foot 3-point try, and Rice sank two free throws with 15 seconds to play to cement the win.

LJ Cryer led Baylor (16-6, 5-4) with 19 points. George added 17 for the Bears, who had a six-game winning streak snapped.

No. 6 Virginia 67, Syracuse 62

Jayden Gardner scored 17 points and Kihei Clark recorded 12 points and 10 assists as the Cavaliers held off the host Orange.

The Cavaliers (17-3, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) have won seven games in a row — a streak bookended by wins over the Orange (13-10, 6-6), who have dropped three consecutive contests. Armaan Franklin contributed 12 points for Virginia, while Gardner added eight rebounds and two steals.

Judah Mintz paced Syracuse with 20 points, while Jesse Edwards pitched in 14 points and seven rebounds. Joseph Girard III scored only seven points and missed nine of his 12 field-goal attempts.
