Trump endorsee Kari Lake says she wouldn’t have certified Biden’s Arizona win

Incumbent GOP Governor Doug Ducey cannot run for a third consecutive term in Arizona and Republicans hopefuls have begun campaigning for the primaries. Kari Lake, a Republican who is running for the post, has been endorsed by former president Donald Trump, earlier. In a recent interview with right-wing network One America News (OAN), Lake said that she would not have certified Biden’s win.

In an interview in Phoenix, Arizona, the former Fox news anchor said that people had witnessed things that were wrong. She added that she “would not have certified” the election “right then” as she believed that there had been information about “serious irregularities” as well as “problems with the election.

Last week, Trump had endorsed Lake and released a statement calling her a “fantastic person” who could take on the “Fake News Media.” He also said that she would be “strong on crime” and other issues including the Second Amendment. He had called the incumbent a RINO (Republican in name only).

Lake, a former news anchor from Phoenix had earlier said that Trump should be added to Mount Rushmore. She was also one of his ardent supporters who kept on repeating his false narrative that there was election fraud in the November 2020 elections.

A poll last month indicated that Lake was leading among the GOP gubernatorial candidates with 25 percent. However, more than 50 percent of the voters said that they had not decided which candidate would get their vote.

The winner among the vast field of talented Republicans will face off the favorite among the Democrats. Katie Hobbs is the Secretary of State in Arizona and is reportedly leading among the candidates in her party.

Arizona was a swing state in the presidential elections. The state was among the few who continued to audit the results of the presidential elections. The latest auditor Cyber Ninjas, who were called partisan as well as extremely inexperienced also upheld the 2020 election results in Maricopa County. In fact, they added 99 votes to Biden’s overall tally. Yet, Trump and his supporters continue to maintain that the audit proved that the election was stolen.
