Fox News weatherman Adam Klotz was severely beaten on the New York City subway after he told a group of teenagers to stop harassing an elderly man. He was punched in the face and kicked in the chest by “five or six” teenagers, resulting in a black eye and bruised ribs.
After watching the Giants-Eagles NFL playoff game in a Manhattan bar, Klotz was on his way home when he saw some young people harassing an “older gentleman” and setting fire to his hair with a joint.
A bruised Klotz described how he was returning home on a train after watching the New York Giants NFL playoff game at a bar when he noticed the harassment and tried to stop the teenagers. He said that they turned to him and said, “if he’s not going to get it, you’re going to get it.” He claimed that the group was taunting him, and despite his attempts to leave the area, the attack continued. Klotz moved to a different subway car, but they followed him. He was punched and when he got off the train, the whole group pounced on him, beat him up, and bruised his ribs, he said. Klotz said he tried his best to his head.
According to reports, three of the teenagers—two of whom were 15 and one was 17—were apprehended by police who took their information and contacted their parents to pick them up early on Sunday.
Police sources stated that the teenagers may have been smoking weed when the meteorologist confronted them around 1:15 a.m. on a No. 1 train. After the assault, the young suspects ran from the train at the 18th Street station, but three of them were quickly apprehended. Following the assault, Klotz received treatment at a nearby hospital.
Klotz has joined ‘Fox & Friends,’ and requested Mayor Eric Adams to take action. He stated that he did not want this to happen to anyone else, but is worried about getting the kids in trouble. According to city data, there was a 30% increase in subway crime in 2022 compared to 2021.
