Late last year, many hotels and short-term rentals in European cities saw higher occupancy than usual on concert dates as Taylor Swift’s web fans, including those from across the pond, began bookings.
The site STR has reported that Melbourne, Sydney, and Singapore have shown higher hotel occupancy levels and short stays on the dates that Taylor Swift is touring these cities in February.
Certain cities in Europe have also shown higher occupancy rates. Cities such as Cardiff and Liverpool have already shown higher occupancy rates in June when Taylor Swift will be performing in these cities. Some European cities have not demonstrated a 50 percent hike in occupancy as yet in July when she is expected to tour, but the site thinks that occupancy will increase as the dates draw closer.
Paris and Lyon are also expected to get a tourism, transportation, and hotel revenue boost, as Le Monde reported that over 250,000 people are expected to attend her concerts. Vienna and Warsaw have also seen high hotel occupancy rates during Taylor Swift’s concerts in the historic cities.
As hotel occupancy increases, so do other local revenues, including transportation and tourism. European and Australian cities are expected to see a boost to their economies as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stops by their towns, just like the tour boosted U.S. cities. By how much? That can be calculated only weeks after her time is completed.
