On Monday, Sports illustrated (SI) announced the names of four women who would grace the covers of the magazine and released photos. These women included Kim Kardashian 41, Maye Musk, 74, Ciara, 36 and Yumi Nu, 36. Many users blasted the magazine after it released a photo of Kim on the cover, wearing a nude bikini from her Skims collection. They called the magazine “hypocritical” and “pathetic.”
One user said it was embarrassing to see the cover photo after SI had been featuring regular day to day women who were incredible and added a “Yikes.”
Another user said “KimK” was the “exact opposite of a “naturally beautiful woman.” The celebrity star “encourages disorder eating and photoshop because she hates herself. Boo.”
Another user told young girls looking at the cover that they “do not need plastic surgery to be beautiful” and there were “plenty of inspiring women inside the magazine to look up to being themselves.”
Kim Kardashian recently went on a drastic diet to lose weight to fit into an iconic dress originally worn by Marilyn Monroe and now in a museum, at the Met Gala. She has spoken of photoshopping her children’s photos (but not her own). She has reportedly undergone plastic surgery and more.

In her write up in the SI Swimsuit issue, the celebrity star spoke of her childhood and tight-knit family. She also spoke of photoshopping pictures for a Christmas Card. She said, “I’m never doing this again. I’ll individually do a shot with each kid and have to photoshop it together. I say that every year and then every year I attempt it” and more about her life, now that she was a mother herself.
She also called Sports Illustrated iconic and said that “every girl has been obsessed with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers.”
The celebrity businesswoman and reality TV star was photographed by Greg Swales in the Dominican Republic. Despite having 311 million followers on Instagram, Kim Kardashian cover shoot faced criticism and Sports Illustrated was called out for using her on their cover.
