Celebrity pop star Dua Lipa has been named ‘Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo,’ the European country where her father was born. She recently performed at the Sunny Hill Festival held in Pristina, Kosovo. She received a medal from president Vjosa Osmani of Kosovo. There was a photo-op with the president and both Dua Lipa and Vjosa Osmani posted some of the photos on social media.

While receiving the honor the celebrity pop singer wore a black floor length skirt paired with an oversized olive blazer. The president wore a white pantsuit, according to the photos posted online.

Dua Lipa mentioned her honorary ambassador post in the caption where she described it as an “honor” and a “privilege.” She added that she would work globally to leave a mark around the world. She also expressed her gratitude.

Earlier, the pop star had performed at the Sunny Hill Festival. She dazzled in a two-piece custom outfit designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, who is the creative direction at fashion house Valentino. The outfit consisted of a pink sequin deeply cut top and a matching pink miniskirt. She accessorized the bright outfit with sequined opera gloves and sheer fishnet tights. Her footwear was a pair of ankle boot heels.

Dua Lipa grew up in London but moved to Kosovo, when her Kosovo Albanian parents moved back to Pristina in Kosovo. However, she moved back to London as she felt that it was the city where her musical career would thrive.

The celebrity singer is in the last few shows of her extensive tour to promote her 2020 album “Future Nostalgia.” She will perform at Sziget and Firefly Music Festival. Earlier in 2022, she had collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion for “Sweetest Pie” and with Young Thug and Calvin Harris for “Potion.”

The 26-year three-time Grammy winner, who lived in the Balkan nation of Kosovo from the age of 13 to 15, will now represent the nation as a young ambassador. Dua Lipa’s father is a renowned musician from the nation, who later became a music producer and promoter. He was also recognized by president Vjosa Osmani, along with his celebrity daughter Dua Lipa.
