Celebrity Taylor Swift is delighting millions of web fans as she tours across the nation. Almost everyone knows that her live performances are the highlights of her web fans’ lives. Her fans called Swifties have been following her across the nation to see her perform and filling the coffers of the cities that she is touring across the U.S. The Philadelphia Federal Reserve recently announced that her concerts were filling hotel rooms and boosting revenue.
On Wednesday the Philadelphia Federal Reserve released its Beige Book. The central bank officials wrote, “Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city.”
Philly is not the only city to feel the Taylor Swift financial phenomenon. According to a report in NBC, Visit Cincinnati president and CEO Julie Calvert had described Taylor Swift as “a force to be reckoned with.” Her June 30 and July 1 tour reportedly added over $2.6 million into downtown hotels as well as $5.3 million into hotels in Hamilton County.
Chicago Tourism officials said that hotel occupancy during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Soldier Field broke records as over 44,000 hotel rooms had been occupied each night, fetching the Windy City $39 million in hotel revenues, for three days.
Earlier in May, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour gave a boost to Boston. Although she performed at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, in Massachusetts the city saw a boost in revenue due to hotel bookings as well as sold out commuter trains, as her web fans traveled to watch the celebrity star’s live performances.
On Friday, July 14 and Saturday July 15, celebrity Taylor Swift is performing at Empower Field in Denver and the city is also bound to see an increase in revenue as Swifties descend near the Rocky Mountains to watch their celebrity singer perform live.
