Classic Southern recipe for Macaroni Salad with Ham:

Ingredients:

2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and cooled
1 cup cooked ham, diced
1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Paprika (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:

Cook Macaroni: Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool. Set aside.

Prepare Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked and cooled macaroni with the diced ham, chopped celery, red onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and sweet pickle relish.

Make Dressing: In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
