Celebrity Steve-O, who became extremely popular after starring in Jackass, recently shared how he overcame sex addiction as well as alcohol and drug addiction. He said that he had become a changed man after he attended a sex addict rehab program. The program included, among other things, remaining celibate for 431 days.

Stephen Gilchrist Glover, who attained celebrity status as Steve-O, spoke about his former addictions, which included drugs, alcohol, and sex. He recently appeared on StyleLikeU and Man Enough’s podcast, What’s Underneath: Masculinity and detailed his journey of addictions.

Steve-O said that the spotlight on him in the 2000s after starring in the popular series Jackass had a dark side as he became addicted to drugs and alcohol, and that had led to multiple arrests. Following this, he also started becoming a sex addict.

Steve-O said that the sex addiction started after he became sober. That was the time he began his sex addiction. The Jackass celebrity said that he began picking fans during meet and greets and would sleep with these fans. Once a fan fell for him, after he poured on the charm, he would then ghost them.

He said that he knew that he had been “using people and throwing them away.” He also said that he was aware of his behavior and that it had been “an endless cycle of shame.”

He realized that he was in a dark place and decided to get help. He said that he reached out to a sex therapist. The therapist asked him to start “an outpatient sex addict rehab program.”

Celebrity Steve-O said that he had starts and stops in his rehab. The program recommended a period of celibacy ranging from a month to three, but he managed to stay celibate for 431 days.

Steve-O also said that he had to find someone who would stay “by his side” for a long time. The celebrity reality star met a stylist named Lux Wright and began dating her in 2016. They have been together since and are also engaged.

Celebrity Steve-O concluded by saying that he was now proud of how he lived his life and what he had become and was “profoundly grateful” that he had found “meaning” in his life.
