Trea Turner broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run double Saturday night as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 8-4 to even their three-game series at a win apiece.

Freddie Freeman had four hits, including a two-run homer, and four RBIs for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers (95-43) scored four runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh as they improved to 11-4 against the Padres (77-63) this season.

Dodgers starter Julio Urias (16-7) held the Padres to two runs, five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in seven innings. He gave up a pair of solo home runs to Manny Machado.

Machado’s first homer in the third tied the game at 1-1.

The Dodgers had taken a 1-0 lead against Padres starter Blake Snell in the top of the inning when Turner tripled with two outs and Freeman lined an RBI single to right.

Snell battled Urias to a 1-1 draw through four innings when he lost his command in the fifth.

Snell opened the inning by walking Trayce Thompson, who battled back from 0-2. Austin Barnes then doubled with Thompson stopping at third. Snell walked Mookie Betts on four pitches to load the bases with none out. Turner then doubled to left-center, clearing the bases. Freeman doubled home Turner to make it 5-1.

Freeman moved to third on a flyout but was thrown out at the plate by shortstop Ha-Seong Kim.

Snell (6-9) gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in four-plus innings.

Machado’s second homer in the sixth cut the deficit to 5-2.

But the Dodgers added three runs in the seventh against Padres reliever Nabil Crismatt. Turner walked with one out and came around on Freeman’s 19th homer. Will Smith then doubled to center and moved to third on Jose Azocar’s error. Chris Taylor drove Smith home with a single off Steven Wilson.

The Padres scored two in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Jurickson Profar and an RBI double by Luis Campusano.
