President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid, according to a press released by the White House He had taken the test as First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid, according to a statement released late Monday evening. The statement said that she was experiencing mild symptoms and that the first lady would stay on at their house in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. President Biden returned to the White House, on Monday night.
White House press secretary released a statement that said that President Biden’s coronavirus test result was negative and that he “will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for symptoms.”
Spokesperson Elizabeth Alexander said Jill Biden has been “experiencing only mild symptoms” and that she would remain at their home in Delaware. On Saturday, the first couple traveled to Florida and then went to their beach house in Reboth Beach, Delaware.
Earlier in 2022, both of them had tested positive for Covid. President Biden had tested positive in July 2022 while Jill Biden tested positive for coronavirus in August 2022. Both of them had mild symptoms and recovered. Both President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are vaccinated and have also taken boosters.
Covid cases are increasing across the U.S., after the emergence of new variants of the coronavirus. There has been a wave of Covid cases this summer. There have been hospitalizations and infections. The Covid cases are much below the peak of cases that took place during the pandemic.
President Biden has a busy week ahead. He is expected to attend the G-20 Summit, in New Delhi, on September 9-10. He is expected to reach India on Thursday, September 7 and leave on September 10. He is also scheduled to visit Hanoi, Vietnam on Sunday. He is expected to meet leaders of Vietnam, in his one-day visit. There is no change in his schedule, as of now.
